Known for its unique blend of historics and charm, Franklin is a tucked away town full of beautiful fields, wildlife, boutique shopping, family friendly activities, and historic homes. One of the biggest assets to Franklin is its historic downtown area. Start with walking Main Street and you won’t even need directions. With local and national boutique shopping, restaurants, and activities, it is the perfect meet up spot for friends and families! Downtown is also a hot spot for local events, like concerts, game nights, and movies. If you love to shop, must see local stores in the area include Whites Mercantile, Franklin Road Apparel Company, Magpies Girl, The Purple Butterfly, Tin Cottage, and Living Franklin. Travel a little way down the road and find vintage + home goods at Zula and Mac. Hungry? Hit a charming version of Frothy Monkey, situated in an old home. For comfort food, hit the ever-loved Puckett’s. Puckett’s is a true southern classic restaurant, with all of your favorite home cooking made fresh for you. This is definitely the spot when you are needing to get that southern food fix! Our favorite coffee spot is the Coffeehouse around the corner. Stop in any time of day for their coffee and seasonal specials, and pick one of the eclectic coffeehouse rooms to enjoy. Cjs off the Square is a charming event venue in the area as well that is worth the time to go see.
For our wine lovers reading, Arrington Vineyards is true heaven on Earth. Co-owned by county music artist Kix Brooks, this vineyard is the true definition of beauty. With an assortment of season wines that are all blended directly at this property, here is your next day time picnic spot. Snag a bottle for the day, try different flavors with a flight, or snag a frose. Everything is seasonal and changes out every 3 or 4 months (which means you have to visit frequently!) They have a house food truck on site, so you can always find a snack, or hit the fridges inside and grab wine and cheese. You can also bring anything with you (from tent to blanket to cooler of food) as long as it isn’t alcohol. Want live music? Head over to their barn on the weekends and find fire pits, food trucks, and more.. If you are a true vino, you can even join as a wine member to get invited to exclusive events and get 3 free bottles of wine and flights each season.
Slow down a little and head to Leiper’s Fork, where you can visit local boutiques, make s’mores in their fire pits during colder days, say hello to the local cats, and more. Head to Leiper’s Fork Distillery, and see what all of the hype is about.Using all local ingredients, they have truly perfected their blend. Coupled with local events centered on whiskey and a good time, the live music and fun crowd is perfect for any night of the week. The scenery here is absolutely amazing with beautiful rolling hills and a perfect scenic view of all of Franklin.
