If you’re looking for a quiet, slower lifestyle in a town that’s within 30 minutes of the hustle and bustle of the city, a Hendersonville apartment just might be the place for you. There you’ll find practical suburban neighborhoods or beautiful properties with farmland and acreage for a more affordable price. The area is definitely built for those who love the outdoors and the comforts of the South – where their dogs can roam free in their yards without a worry in the world.
At the heart of Hendersonville is Old Hickory Lake, where you can go fishing, rent a pontoon boat, or just enjoy the views of the water. Right on the lake is the Rockland Recreation Area, equipped with nature trails, picnic tables, and so much more. Also on the lake is the Historic Rock Castle, an 18 acre estate built from 1784 to 1796 that now hosts various private events. If you’re more of a golf person, be sure to check out Country Hills Golf Course. Their 18 holes of play is sure to scratch that itch.
Indoor activities more your vibe? Don’t worry, you’ve got options. The Mounthaven Arts and Cultural Center is an art museum that locals love to check out every now and then. Many apartment residents also enjoy bowling, catching a movie, shopping at the outdoor mall, and dining at some of their favorite local joints. Moby Dicky’s is a name to remember if you enjoy a sports bar vibe, seafood, and waterfront patios. Music City Diner is always a go-to for a good breakfast or lunch with live music. They also make a mean cake! The Chop House is a casual steakhouse that serves seafood, pasta, and has a coveted wine list. If you’re into cajun food, be sure to check out The Lost Cajun, one of the more popular spots in town! For the craft beer lovers out there, Half Bath Brewing will take care of you… but, only on Wednesday through Saturday.

What more could a nature lover need? That sounds like a hypothetical question, but it’s actually not. The answer is… river cruises! That’s right- right on Old Hickory Lake. Get ready to cruise the night away! Now, let’s talk golf (again). Long Hollow Golf Course is a super popular greenway known for their affordable prices. What could possibly go wrong? That one was hypothetical by the way… nothing is going to go wrong, pinky promise!
Of course, there’s even more historic sites to visit in this outer- Nashville area. There’s the Douglas-Clark House, Trousdale Place, and Historic Rose Mont to name a few. You can also check out the Sumner County Museum to see local exhibits and artifacts from the 19th century. There’s no shortage of fun around the holidays. You’ve got your choice of fall festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and even a ghost walk!
