Including apartments in neighborhoods such as Percy Priest Lake, Lenox Village, and Antioch.
Known for adventure, history, and activity, South Nashville is one of the best spots in the city. One of the most popular places in this area is Percy Priest Lake. Formed by J. Percy Priest Dam, it is located between miles six and seven of the Stones River and runs about 42 miles long. Find a friend with a boat and head to party cove, awesome people, and fun times, Percy Priest Lake is a guaranteed good time. With campgrounds, fishing, marinas, and rentals, they have everything you could possibly need for a fun day on the lake! They have 3 different campground options here, ranging in price from $14-$24 depending on the location you choose. They also have a daily visitor fee of $3 per day. The camping season runs from April-October. Some other recreational opportunities that the campgrounds offer are boat launch ramps, picnic shelter rentals, swimming beaches, fishing areas, playgrounds, hiking trails, biking trails, and wildlife viewing areas.
The marinas at Percy Priest offer you everything you could possibly need for a day out on the lake! With boat launch ramps, boat storage, trailer storage, fuel docks, fishing bait, fishing license, tackle shops, boat registration renewal, overnight boat slips, and boating supplies, you are sure to be set for success on the lake. If you don’t have a boat, you are able to rent a water toy directly on site (think fishing boats, ski boats, pontoon party boats and jet skis.) Rentals include all required safety gear and any water skis wakeboards and inner tubes you need, so you’re totally covered. Boats are available at both daily and hourly rates. We recommend booking in advance since this is a popular activity in the South Nashville area. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, they also have restaurants and bars with dine in or carry out options so you can have the perfect post-lake meal. Many days they even offer live local music to enjoy along the lake side while sipping on a cocktail of your choice. If you are more into the party scene, try out the Nashville Party Cruises on Percy Priest Lake! These fun boats are exactly what they sound like – a full party on water. With captains aboard and a driving service offered, this is exactly what you need to get the party started with your crew.
For families or those on the studious side, another great place to hang out is the Nashville Public Library Southeast Branch. If you are in school, work from home, or just need a change of scenery, the Library offers study rooms that you can reserve to get back on the grind. They are spacious, clean, bright, and provide you with the perfect alone time opportunity to focus on your work. If you have children, this is the perfect place to take them on a summer day to pick out a book on their own and take them to read outside somewhere sunny!
Make it a priority to check out the incredible Nashville Zoo. With nearly 3,000 animals and 350 different species represented, this is a perfect spot to take the kids. Tickets range from $16-23 depending on the day, with an $8 parking fee as well. You can even rent strollers out for $11! They also offer group discounts for groups larger than 20 people. Besides all of the different animals to observe, there are also opportunities for other fun experiences like the zip line, carousel, or train. They even offer experiences and shows which vary by season. Some of our favorite animals to stop by and hang with here are the caribbean flamingos, elephants, monkeys, reptile center, and pandas!
