Lover of outdoors? West Nashville has one of the top driving ranges, McCabe, for those who enjoy their afternoons on the green! Golf, take a walk on the different greenway loops (1 mile, 5 mile, and more with places to stop and delve into pull ups), take the kids on a picnic, and more. If this is not your scene, the good news! You can find an outdoor patio to sip at in Sylvan Park while waiting for your friends to finish up their 18 holes. Snag a fabulous margarita and mouth watering tacos at Pancho & Leftys, or get your breakfast on at family owned and Nashville renowned Star Bagel.! Another fabulous patio for some more upscale dining is Answer. A bright New American bistro with tasty halibut, noteworthy charcuterie, and house cocktails themed to each season, this chef-owned spot is worth the stop.
Venture West to the affectionately named Nations neighborhood and find adorable neighborhoods coupled with locally owned food + beverage, shopping, and more. Stocking 51’s Frothy Monkey is our favorite of their local locations to grab a famous cup of coffee and brunch. Beautiful chandeliers, tasty lattes, decadent chocolate chip pancakes, and $5 wine specials, it truly is a one stop shop. Frothy monkey is the perfect work spot, or great for a breakfast date. Don’t stop there: visit ABLE and Denizen to grab any housewarming gift or shop for yourself, and sneak in a bite of ice cream at the newly opened Jeni’s Ice Cream next door. Home of the perfect ice cream for our sweet tooth friends, this location has outdoor seating with beautiful views of the preserved Silos! With a variety of seasonal flavors, there truly is something for everyone here. Be prepared for the most delicious smell of homemade waffle cones as soon as you step foot inside – don’t say we didn’t warn you! Also tucked away in the nations is Midnight Oil. Snag incredible local pizza and a glass of frose (the perfect combo), or take it to go and be the hit of the household.
Head over to Charlotte Pike and stop into Radish Kitchen – your new go to meal for those who enjoy fresh ingredients. Specializing in salads, bowls, and wraps, Radish is the perfect spot for a good detox meal after a long weekend of enjoying Nashville a little too much (or when you need a healthy fix day to day). The newly opened but locally cherished Bearded Iris Brewing (next door to Radish in Sylvan Supply) has brews for there or to go. Drive a few minutes and stop into L&L Market for local boutiques, tacos, Thai, coffee, and more. Gracie’s will supply you with a milkshake the size of your head, or stop into Cycle Bar and feel the burn. Haven’t had enough great food yet? Maneet Chauhan’s Chaatable, full of Indian street food-inspired menu items and decor, will blow you away. Worth making a reservation or stopping in for a quick cocktail!
Now that you’re in walking distance, you’ll want to stop by Nashville’s smallest bar, Sandbar! Known for their pup-friendly environment, volleyball tournaments, family-friendly environment, and festive coconut drinks, Sandbar is your new home away from home. You may forget you’re in Nashville and think you’re at the beach! Sandbar is a neighbor to KoKos, an all plant-based ice cream shop. They even have something special for your puppies! Make sure to check out Avo as well while in the center. Avo is a vegan-friendly cafe, with craft cocktails as well. For food, some of the standouts are the Nachos, Avo Toast, Green Bowl, and Chili Cheese Fries – all to die for. For spirits, it is hard to outshine the Avocado Margarita. It’s famous on Instagram and totally incredible. Make sure you notice that the entire development is made from storage containers – an awesome use of space in the West.
For live music lovers, the Local is exactly what it sounds like! A local dive bar with writers’ rounds every Sunday, this is one of those spots that make you remember you really are in Music City! Next time you have the Sunday Scaries, the Local is definitely your cure. Sit back and relax while soaking in all of the local talent. Not only is the music amazing, the Local also has ultra-satisfying nachos that can be washed down smoothly with their numerous beers on tap.
West Nashville is the perfect destination for those looking to enjoy Nashville with a lot less hustle and bustle. Whenever we visit this side of town, it makes us feel a little more at home.
